How it works

Sponsoring is a long term, rewarding experience for both the sponsor and child. Signing up to be a sponsor means that you will cover the child’s school fees, uniform, and school books, until the child finishes school at 16. In return, you will receive regular updates from us to help you learn about the child, their progress at school and latest news from their community. You can easily set up sponsorship via Paypal.

Becoming a sponsor

Once you sign up to be a sponsor, we will send you details about the child you will be sponsoring, including a photo. Fees are paid to the school and carefully tracked so that you know exactly where your money is going. At least twice a year, we will send you an email about your sponsored child, including an update they would like to share with you, e.g. a drawing or a story about themselves.

If you would prefer to make a donation instead of sponsoring an individual child, you can donate to our ‘Big Group Child Sponsorship’ account. This fund has been set up by Laura. This fund has been set up by Laura, one of our past volunteers, to offer sponsorship to more local children. Donations will be used to pay for school fees and supplies, enabling these children to have a good education and better prospects for a good job. Donate today to help make their dreams come true.

How much does sponsorship cost?

Sponsoring a child costs Eur15 per month. That’s just €0.50 per day. This pays for the child’s school fees and supplies, e.g. school uniform and books. Its easy to set up automatic monthly transfers for your sponsorship via Paypal.

How is the money used?

Your sponsorship donations are valued. At Prime Trust we carefully manage fees and receipts for each child’s expenses to ensure your money is used most effectively. More than 90% goes to school expenses, with the remainder used on essential administration to manage the programme.

How long does sponsorship last?

Sponsorship is a long term commitment, lasting until the child finishes school at 15.

What if I can no longer be a sponsor?

We will understand if you need to stop being a sponsor because your circumstances change. However we will need to find a new sponsor quickly, so please let us know as early as possible.

Can I choose the child I sponsor?

Unless you have a specific request, you will receive details about the child most in need of sponsorship. We prioritise children based on strict criteria, including family income and the parents’ or guardian’s circumstances.
